We're looking for a Program Consultant-Social Services- ES-TANF to join our DCFS team. The TANF cluster operates the Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program, the Kinship Care Subsidy Program, Strategies to Empower People Program, TANF initiatives, and TANF MOE programs. This is an advanced level professional, programmatic position. The incumbent is responsible for programmatic quality assurance, training, guidance, policy interpretation, administering, and program monitoring.This position's office domicile location is open to the Shreveport Region (Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, DeSoto, Red River, Sabine, and Natchitoches parishes).Six years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; ORSix years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; ORA bachelor's degree plus three years of professional level experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; ORAn advanced degree in a social science field, public health, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, business, public, or health administration, or Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services.EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundhere.
Job Duties:- Monitors program integrity by case validation, reports, contract monitoring, etc. to ensure that benefits and services are accurately provided to eligible citizens.
- Direct, instructs, and provides programmatic supervision or technical assistance for the effective implementation and administration of the programs contained in the TANF cluster.
- Negotiates TANF contracts for initiatives or core programs.
- Develops training packages and conducts training sessions for staff or provides technical assistance to contracted providers.
- Engages in the process and prepares documents for the formation of a rule.
- Routinely travels to various field offices or contactors in relation to quality assurance. Overnight travel may be required occasionally.

Works Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
